Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone. If you have yet to view the LDS Church's Easter video today, you should.

If you already have done so, then feel free to look at this photo of three very cute children:

Soccer Season

In a follow-up to a recent post, Analeigh decided she wanted to sign up for the local youth soccer league. Yes, youth soccer. That classic pastime involving children all huddled together to kick the ball (rather than running finely executed plays) and at least one child in each game who is wandering off with no focus whatsoever for the game he/she is in.

Well, Analeigh's first game was today and our greatest dreams were realized: she's that one kid on every team (after all, you don't get a wad of grass in your hand by chasing down the ball). We may need to enroll her in dance class at some point in the future... maybe this place is still in business.

Happy Birthday Ben!

As you may have gathered from the title of today's post, Ben's birthday was today. He got a delicious chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting covered in chopped up Reese's peanut butter cups. It was awesome!
Ben also got Season One and Season Two of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He was saddened that Disney's recent acquisition of Lucasfilm resulted in the show being cancelled earlier this month. However, on a happier note, if you wanted to buy any of the remaining seasons for Ben, he would not complain.

Fun with a Box

Old boxes are great. For example, for Analeigh's birthday party, we were able to cur holes in one and set it up as a bean bag toss (Cailainn was not interested in standing the regulation distance away from the holes):
Then, only a few days later, David was able to turn himself into an astronaut using that same box.
See? Old boxes are great.

Analeigh's Birthday Party

Analeigh's birthday party was today. She had some friends from preschool come, though not as many as she wanted since the date conflicted with the beginning of spring break.

Regardless, Analeigh had tons of fun eating cake, playing games, and opening presents. And the guests had fun too since it was a dress up party (which was really an excuse for Analeigh to dress as a princess and for everyone else to get a second use out of their Halloween costumes).

Here she is playing duck, duck, goose (she is the one sitting in the purple Rapunzel dress):

Happy Birthday Analeigh!

Birthdays are great motivators for children. For example, Analeigh was very excited to get up this morning. In fact, we had no difficulty getting her up and dressed for preschool (other than her wanting to go downstairs to open presents before getting dressed).

Analeigh was excited about every aspect of the present opening process - even the cards were exciting! She loved getting Disney princess dolls (and could hardly keep her eyes off of them long enough to take a picture).
She also got fancy princess gloves, a tiara, and a wand.
Happy Birthday Analeigh!

Happy Birthday Liz!

Birthdays are a really big deal when you're young. But, as you get older, the occasion seems less important. After you turn 25, and can then rent a car, what's really left to look forward to about your birthday?

So, with that introduction, this is the only photo we took on Liz's birthday:
Yep, just two girls jumping on their bed. No pictures of a cake, or presents, or anything else like unto it. That isn't to say Liz didn't get any of that stuff - we just didn't take any pictures of it. In fact, Liz was very happy with a pair of books she received: Bags--The Modern Classics: Clutches, Hobos, Satchels & More and Oliver + S Little Things to Sew: 20 Classic Accessories and Toys for Children.
