Happy Halloween!

Today was a day of fulfilled dreams for our children. After days and weeks of pining to be able to wear their costumes, Halloween finally arrived!

David went out as a Jedi - Obi-Wan Kenobi, to be precise, because his lightsaber is blue. He then told Ben to be Qui-Gon Jinn and carry around the green lightsaber. He proceeded to refer to Ben as "Qui-Gon" throughout the trick-or-treating experience.
Analeigh went as a fairy. She was very happy about her wand and her wings.
Cailainn got dressed up as a Care Bear. Liz tried to make her resemble Cheer Bear, but struggled to find a decent rainbow picture to print on to our iron-on paper. So Cailainn got clouds with her rainbow tummy.
The kids had a wonderful time traversing the town in pursuit of candy. When we got home we put it all together so that Mommy and Daddy could take their taxes.
Now for a moment of Ben feeling unappreciated: Ben decided it would be cool to add a lightsaber effect to David's photo. So he used his Gimp skills to edit the photo and give David the choice of having a green, blue, purple, or red lightsaber that would look real.
However, what was David's initial response to this? Not, "Wow, Dad!" or "Thanks, Dad!" Just, "I want two blades." So Ben went back and gave him two blades.

When Will It Fall?

David showed us that one of his front teeth has been a little wiggly lately. Ben offered to yank it out, but Liz has decided to go for the more natural course of waiting and seeing. So, anyone interested in betting on when the Tooth Fairy's services will be required?

Land of Make Believe

Analeigh is getting very creative in her interactions with her toys. She recently took a tutu off of one of her dolls and shoved a frog inside. Voila! A Frog Princess!
Then, today, she took the liberty of using David's blocks to make a table for her Barbie doll. Now she can have tea parties anytime she wants.

Rope Burn

As you may or may not know, Ben works at a psychiatric residential treatment facility for youth. As you may not know, there is a ropes course there. While youth are permitted on, staff are discouraged from participating because HR does not like having to pay out insurance money in the event of injuries.

So, with that understanding in mind, Ben did not go on the Giant Swing last Friday. Ben also did not get a rope burn around his leg from participating in said activity.

If anyone from HR asks, the following injury came because Ben fell down the stairs... or ran into a door knob... or got hit by a car. However, it did not happen because he was playing on the ropes course. Got it? Good.
